Armand (AJ) Rodrigues, Chairman
Armand (AJ) Rodrigues is a Project Geologist and CEM at Geotechnical & Environmental Services, Inc. with over six years of experience in the environmental consulting industry. AJ was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada and received a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). AJ is an avid hiker and spends much of his free time exploring Southern Nevada. AJ is the Chairman for the Nevada Section of AWMA and would love to discuss the benefits our organization could have for you! 
Dean Armstrong, Vice Chairman

Dean is a Principal Professional at Kleinfelder, Inc., in Las Vegas, Nevada, and is responsible for technical and project management. He possesses a BA and MS degree in Geology from Northwestern University and the University of Utah, respectively. Dean has over 25 years of experience developing multi-discipline solutions to complex geo-environmental issues with emphasis on cost-effective risk management strategies. He is a licensed Professional Geologist in California and Utah. Dean is currently serving as Vice Chair.

Tomo Taniuchi, Treasurer

Tomo is a Senior Environmental Manager at NOVA with 13 years of experience in the Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety Consulting field. A graduate of the University of Arizona, he has since acquired NV Certified Environmental Manager (CEM), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), and Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) certificates. He was reelected to the Board in 2017 and is currently serving as Treasurer, responsible for the financial functions of the organization.

Caitlin Johnson, Secretary

Caitlin is a Staff Geologist at Terracon Consultants, Inc. in Las Vegas, Nevada, and has been working in the environmental consulting field for approximately six years. She was born and raised in Las Vegas, and graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno. She loves to travel, this includes both within the US and internationally. Caitlin is currently serving as Secretary, responsible for internal and external communications and organizational record keeping.

Jonathan Sarich, Programming Director

Jonathan is a Senior Consultant Geologist and CEM at Ramboll, with over 18 years of experience in water resource management and environmental consulting. Jonathan is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha and received a Bachelor of Science in Geology. He is currently serving as Program Director, responsible for securing speakers for monthly meetings and making physical arrangements for the meetings to be held.

Marlon Cartin, Membership Director

Marlon is a Senior Project Manager at ASSET Laboratories in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is responsible for managing high profile projects and business development in Nevada and Northern California. He has over 15 years of experience in Environmental Laboratory operations and project management. Marlon holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry Degree from Adamson University in Manila, Phillippines. Marlon is currently serving as Membership Director.

 

 

Katie Peterson, Media Director

Katie is a Senior Staff Geologist at Broadbent & Associates, Inc., in Henderson, Nevada. She was born and raised in Minnesota and moved to Las Vegas in 2010. She received a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Katie enjoys spending time with her dogs, hiking, and camping. She is responsible for all media-related functions for the Nevada Section, including the newsletters and webpage.

Alyssa Siqueiros, Student Ambassador

Alyssa is a senior studying geology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and is currently an intern at Broadbent & Associates, Inc. She was born and raised in Las Vegas, and plans to graduate from UNLV in May of 2020. Alyssa has a passion for the environment and she loves to hike, camp, and spend time outdoors.

Paul Fransioli, Chair Emeritus

While not teaching his grandchildren about the finer things in life, Paul remains actively consulting in air quality and meteorology programs, focusing on air monitoring and quality topics.  He is the Nevada Section Chair Emeritus, and is always looking for ideas and leads from interested parties so the Section can keep providing informative talks during our monthly luncheon meetings.
